Monday Motivation: January #1

Hey guys!! Sheesh, I know, I know, I’ve been slacking and I haven’t put up a blog post since last year! Hah, excuse my weak attempt at cracking a joke but how is everyone enjoying the new year!? I hope it’s  fab! Unsurprisingly though, life is still trying to test me and this past week has been quite the challenge. You know what though, January has always been my favorite month (I might be a little biased because it’s my birth month! :P) and I’m not going to let anyone or anything change that! I know that it’s Tuesday and this post was supposed to go up yesterday but mmm better late than never, right? ;)

For today’s post, I’d like to talk about a personal experience. Lately, I had an accident at work and it terrified me. Mainly because I knew that what I did would pose a great inconvenience to a lot of people. A lot of things started running through my head. I couldn’t sleep that night thinking about the consequences of my actions and you know the thing that surprised me most was what? That it was exactly that – in my head. When I walked into work the following day, the Gods worked in my favor and everything sorted itself out. No one was greatly affected, at least not as much as I thought they would be. In the end, I was getting so worked up over something that seemed so bad only inside my head. A friend shared this quote with me the other day and it honestly couldn’t have been more appropriate to my situation at the time!

“Tell the negative committee that meets inside your head to sit down and shut up.” – Ann Bradford

Today, if you’re feeling terrible over something that happened, just drop your worries because it probably isn’t as bad as you perceive it to be! Take it from me and save all that energy you’re wasting on worry and use it elsewhere!

Happy Monday (come on, it HAS to be Monday somewhere in the world!) and I wish you all a great week ahead!

Kisses,

S
