A couple of weeks ago, Lush Kuwait finally launched their fresh face masks! Personally, I was super excited about this because I've previously heard so many nice things about their masks and I couldn't wait to actually try them for myself!
Lush originally carries 9 types of masks, but currently, Lush Kuwait offers only 4. Hopefully, they'll come out with the full line soon!
CATASTROPHE COSMETIC
"You know those times when you get one or two spots and it throws you into panic? Well, this mask is here to lend you a bit of perspective, to tell you to calm down, it’s not the end of the world and it’s nothing that can't be sorted. Basically, this is your best mate in a pot. Irish moss gel will soften the skin, whilst almond oil will moisturise and leave it supple. Fresh blueberries are full of vitamins and minerals and are antioxidant. Rose absolute and chamomile essential oil will reduce redness and irritation. Calamine and talc will deep clean and soothe the skin at the same time. Combined together they provide your skin with a good deep cleanse without causing puffiness – leaving the face cool, clear and calm. This is a deep cleansing mask that it designed for regular maintenance to keep the skin clean and clear. Regular deep cleaning can avoid spots occurring and keep skin in top condition."
CUPCAKE
"We invented this mask for younger skins and for those who are new to face masks and want to use something that’s cheerful and cheeky but still effective and good at its job. The serious side of this mask has linseed infusion to nourish and soften the skin, fresh mint for toning, cocoa butter to moisturise and rhassoul mud to absorb grease and give a deep cleanse. The lighthearted side of this mask has cocoa powder, vanilla absolute and spearmint oil - because we wanted this to bring all the comfort of a chocolate bar. Well, a chocolate bar that doesn't cause spots, of course!"
THE SACRED TRUTH
"We don’t like making claims about holding back aging – because let’s face it, we can’t. But we do think that putting carefully selected, wonderful ingredients onto mature skin can have benefits. It won’t make you younger – but it will make the best of the skin you have. In here we have ginseng and green tea for their antioxidant effects. Fresh wheatgrass for its natural superoxide dismutase (SOD) – which are free radical scavengers. Rich, softening ingredients like linseed, eggs, evening primrose oil, shea butter, lanolin, coconut oil and honey to be soothing and moisturising. Clays of kaolin and talc will help clean the skin and papaya will help dissolve dead skin cells. This is a serious, complex mask to give maximum benefits for those who know that a little extra help and care will keep their skin at the height of its game."
OATIFIX
"A mask for dry skin. Bananas are a very rich oily fruit – so are perfect for a mask that is trying to get goodness into dry skin. Also in here is illipe butter to moisturise the skin and leave it supple. Oatmeal, ground almonds and kaolin bind the ingredients and act as a very gentle scrub to lift dead skin away and leave the face looking brighter. A soft fragrance based on vanilla absolute finishes off this nourishing mask. Altogether, a gentle mask that is perfect to feed dry or sensitive skin. Oatifix was invented by our shop managers on an inventing day at the factory. They wanted something for dry skin, that didn’t cause irritation to sensitive skin types."
Each pot (75g) comes with a price tag of KD 4.500. Since they have no preservatives, they're recommended to be stored in the fridge at all times and are good enough to be used within 3 weeks from the production date.
I dropped by my Lush last week and picked up the Cupcake mask! It was the first one on my list to try out. It smells like Christmas and I've used it once since then. I can't say it did much to my skin but it was really refreshing to put on. I will continue to use it though and tell you guys if it made a significant difference to my skin!
Here's me with Cupcake on! It looks sketchy but it smells amazing, I promise! |
